What this site puts on your machine
Two entries in your browser and one short-lived file on our server. No advertising, no analytics, no profile, and nothing that follows you anywhere else.
The complete list
Strictly speaking we set no cookies at all. What the site uses is local storage in your browser, plus a counter file that lives on our server for an hour.

Neither browser entry is readable by any other site, and neither travels to us on its own. The counter file holds a number and a hashed name; there is nothing in it that identifies you.
What we deliberately do not run
- —no Google Analytics, Matomo or any other measurement package;
- —no advertising or retargeting pixels, no conversion tags;
- —no social network buttons, embedded players or chat widgets;
- —no fingerprinting, and nothing shared with a third party for their own purposes.
The banner still shows two switches, Statistics and Map. They are there because we have both ready to turn on: a plain count of page views, and a map of the Park Lane yard for people who cannot find the entrance. Until we switch them on nothing is loaded either way, and your answer will take effect from the day we do.
Why we do not ask permission for the first three
Regulation 6(4) of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations lets a site store something on your device without consent when it is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for. A basket that empties itself on every page, a banner that reappears on every click and a form open to automated abuse would all fail that test.
Everything beyond those three needs your consent under regulation 6(1), together with Article 6(1)(a) of UK GDPR. That is what the switches are for, and consent given there can be taken back at any time.
Changing your mind
Your answer sits in the entry called cookie-choice. Clear the site data for lanternrow.live and the banner comes back on your next visit, with nothing pre-selected.

Things loaded from elsewhere
The three typefaces come from Google’s font servers. They store nothing on your machine, but the request itself carries your IP address, because a file cannot be delivered without one. What that means in data protection terms is set out in clause 06 of the privacy policy.
Photographs, styles and scripts are all served from this domain. There is no content delivery network in front of the site and no third-party script anywhere in the pages.
When this changes
If we do switch the counter or the map on, the table in clause 01 will be updated first and the banner will ask again. The version number and date at the top of this page tell you which text is current.
